Stockton University was founded in 1969 with an aim to provide environment for excellence to a diverse student body, including those from underrepresented populations. The university offers more than 40 undergraduate degree programs, 14 advanced degree programs, 7 educational endorsement programs, 7 certificate and preparation programs. The multiple disciplines that the university provides education in include Arts and Humanities, Business, Education, General Studies, Health Sciences, Natural Sciences and Mathematics and Social and Behavioral Sciences among others.
