Atypical depression is a type of depression in which the depression results in increased appetite, weight gain, excessive sleep, fatigue or weakness, moods that are strongly reactive to environmental circumstances, and feeling extremely sensitive to rejection. The major symptom the distinguishes atypical depression from other forms is the improvement in the mood to the positive changes around.
