Informed Consent Policy

Respecting Participant Rights in Interdisciplinary Research

JISDCES upholds ethical standards by requiring clear, documented informed consent for all studies involving human participants. We ensure that contributors follow responsible practices when collecting, reporting, or publishing personal data, visual content, or sensitive information across our six dynamic sections.

At the Journal of Interdisciplinary Social, Digital, Creative & Engineering Studies (JISDCES), we uphold the ethical principles of human subject research by requiring informed consent for all studies involving human participants, their data, or identifiable materials.

General Principles

  • Informed consent must be obtained prior to participation, ensuring individuals are aware of the research scope, procedures, risks, and benefits.
  • Consent must be freely given, informed, and documented, adhering to international standards such as the Declaration of Helsinki, Belmont Report, and Nuremberg Code.

Requirements for Manuscript Submission

  • A statement confirming ethical committee approval and informed consent must be included in the manuscript.
  • For studies involving minors or vulnerable populations, consent must be obtained from legal guardians, with appropriate safeguards documented.
  • If ethical approval was waived, an explanation and exemption documentation must be included.
  • Identifiable images, videos, or personal information must only be published with explicit written consent from participants. Anonymization techniques like blurring are not acceptable substitutes without consent.
  • Human organ/tissue studies must explicitly state that no biological materials were obtained from prisoners or unethical sources.
  • All novel clinical techniques must include ethical approval and informed consent, unless already validated by the research institution.

Authorship & Acknowledgment

  • Contributors who do not qualify for authorship (e.g., translators, statistical advisors, etc.) must be credited in the Acknowledgment section.
  • Changes to authorship require written approval from all listed authors and must follow COPE guidelines.
