Human and Animal Rights Policy

Upholding Ethical Standards in Interdisciplinary Research

JISDCES upholds global ethical standards in research involving human participants and animals. All submissions must include documented approval from accredited ethics committees and demonstrate adherence to international guidelines on welfare, consent, and humane treatment.

About Us

At the Journal of Interdisciplinary Social, Digital, Creative & Engineering Studies (JISDCES), we are committed to upholding the highest ethical standards in research involving human participants and animal subjects. We endorse internationally accepted principles of dignity, welfare, and rights protection, aligned with global ethical codes such as:

For Human Subjects

Authors must confirm that:

  • The study received prior ethical approval from an Institutional Review Board (IRB) or Ethics Committee, with full details provided in the “Methods” section.
  • Participants gave informed consent, including consent to publish where applicable (especially for images or identifiable data).
  • Special protections were observed for vulnerable populations (e.g., minors, cognitively impaired individuals).
  • Any deception in research must be ethically justified and followed by debriefing.
  • Data privacy and confidentiality were maintained in compliance with data protection regulations (e.g., GDPR).

For Animal Research

Authors must:

  • Provide evidence of ethical approval from an institutional or national animal care committee.
  • Clearly state adherence to guidelines such as ARRIVE, PHS Policy, or local equivalent regulations.
  • Describe animal handling, housing, anesthesia, and humane endpoints to ensure minimized suffering.
  • Include a statement affirming that all procedures were conducted in accordance with relevant institutional and national animal welfare laws.
  • Provide justification for the use of animals and indicate efforts to implement the 3Rs: Replacement, Reduction, and Refinement.

For Field or Observational Studies

Where formal ethical oversight is unavailable:

  • Authors must include a statement that their research followed relevant national and international ethical standards, including those of the Declaration of Helsinki or institutional codes of conduct.
  • Any interactions with communities or groups must include documented permission or consent.

Editorial Oversight & Compliance

The Editorial Board reserves the right to reject manuscripts that fail to meet the above criteria.

  • In cases of doubt, the journal may request proof of ethical approval or contact the approving body for clarification.
  • Retrospective ethics approval is not acceptable.
