Submission Requirements

JISDCES enforces a strict anti-plagiarism policy. Authors must ensure originality before submission, as we use plagiarism detection software. Submit manuscripts in Word (.doc or .docx) format via our online platform or email to [email protected]. Include a cover letter listing co-authors and citation sources, if applicable.

Adhere to these formatting guidelines to ensure consistency and quality in JISDCES submissions.

Titles should be concise (25 words or less), avoid abbreviations, and clearly describe the manuscript’s content.

Provide full names, affiliations, and contact details (phone, fax, email) for the corresponding author and co-authors.

The abstract should summarize the study’s background, methods, results, and conclusions in 300 words or less, using standard nomenclature and avoiding abbreviations. Include a list of keywords and abbreviations below.

  • Introduction: Clearly outline the study’s purpose, relevant literature, and approach, appealing to a broad audience.
  • Materials and Methods: Detail the study design, materials, participants, and procedures. Cite published methods, noting modifications, and capitalize trade names.
  • Results: Present findings in the past tense to support conclusions. Keep separate from discussion, avoiding speculation.
  • Acknowledgments: Recognize contributors, grants, or funding sources.
  • Note: Maintain clarity in titles, headings, and subheadings if deviating from guidelines.

Use the NLM citation style, numbering references in order of appearance in the text with square brackets (e.g., [1,4-8,28]). Include only published or accepted works, with at least one online link (preferably PubMed). Exclude unpublished materials or personal communications without supporting letters.

Article Citation Format

  • List all authors (last name, first and middle initials, separated by commas).
  • Use full article title, capitalizing only the first word and proper nouns.
  • Abbreviate journal titles per the NLM Catalog.
  • List year, month, and date (if available), followed by a semicolon.
  • Include volume, issue, and page range (e.g., 1235-7).

Example: Li Y, Yuan H, von dem Bussche A, Creighton M, Hurt RH, Kane AB, Gao H. Graphene microsheets enter cells through spontaneous membrane penetration at edge asperities and corner sites. Proc Natl Acad Sci U S A. 2013 Jul 23;110(30):12295-300. doi: 10.1073/pnas.1222276110. PMID: 23840061.

Book Citation Format

  • List authors or editors, followed by book title (capitalize first word and proper nouns).
  • Include edition (e.g., 2nd ed.), place of publication, publisher, year, and pagination.

Example: France RC. Introduction to sports medicine and athletic training. 2nd ed. Clifton Park (NY): Delmar Cengage Learning; 2011. 695 p.

Website Citation Format

Example: American Medical Association [Internet]. Chicago: The Association; c1995-2002 [updated 2001 Aug 23; cited 2002 Aug 12]. AMA Office of Group Practice Liaison; [about 2 screens]. Available from: http://www.ama-assn.org/ama/pub/category/1736.html

Use tables sparingly, submitted in .doc format, each on a separate page with Arabic numerals and a self-explanatory legend. Describe methods in the legend, not the text, and avoid duplicating data in tables and graphs.

Note: Submit articles in .doc format, not PDF, to facilitate processing.

Submit figures in .doc, JPEG, or TIFF format. Provide Photoshop files for layered images. Use Arabic numerals (e.g., Figure 1) and uppercase letters for parts (e.g., Figure 1A). Include legends with titles and descriptions, avoiding text repetition.

Submit figure legends in numerical order on a separate document.

Encode equations in MathML where possible, and submit as TIFF or EPS files. Ensure consistent, legible font sizes. Supplementary information (e.g., figures, tables) should be referenced in the text and provided as a single PDF file, with images up to 640x480 pixels (72 PPI).

Electronic PDF proofs are sent to the corresponding author. Page proofs are final, allowing only minor corrections. Authors have free access to HTML and PDF versions and can download PDFs for unlimited printing.

Ensure compliance with:

  • Unpublished manuscript, not under consideration elsewhere (or explain in comments).
  • Submitted in Open Office, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect format.
  • References include URLs where available.
  • Single-spaced, 12-point font, uses italics (not underlining except for URLs), with figures/tables placed within the text.
  • Adheres to JISDCES stylistic and bibliographic guidelines.
  • Includes clinical trial registration numbers and committee details.
