🧭 Role Overview
The Editor-in-Chief (EiC) of JISDCES holds the highest editorial responsibility and plays a strategic leadership role in steering the journal’s academic direction, visibility, and quality. The EiC ensures that the journal adheres to the highest standards of interdisciplinary research publication, guiding the editorial board, managing peer review integrity, and fostering global collaborations.
🎓 Core Responsibilities
1. Editorial Leadership & Vision
- Define and refine the journal's scope and editorial policies in collaboration with the Publisher and Advisory Board.
- Lead strategic initiatives, including special issues, section expansions, and new thematic domains aligned with global research trends.
- Uphold and promote JISDCES’ commitment to interdisciplinary excellence and inclusivity.
2. Oversight of Editorial Board
- Recruit, appoint, and mentor Associate Editors, Section Editors, and Advisory Members.
- Set clear expectations and performance standards for editors and reviewers.
- Organize annual editorial board evaluations and meetings (virtually or in person).
3. Review Process Supervision
- Oversee the double-blind peer review process to ensure ethical, unbiased, and timely assessments.
- Act as the final decision-maker in complex or conflicting reviewer situations.
- Approve reviewer assignments and editorial decisions where escalation is required.
4. Content Development & Quality Control
- Monitor accepted manuscripts for originality, relevance, and scholarly merit.
- Contribute or commission Editorials, Opinions, or Thematic Introductions on emerging interdisciplinary topics.
- Ensure balanced coverage across the six key sections of the journal.
5. Ethics, Disputes & Post-Publication Issues
- Respond promptly to ethical concerns, corrections, or retractions.
- Collaborate with the Publisher and Ethics Committee to address complaints, misconduct, or policy violations.
- Promote transparency in all editorial decisions and conflict resolution.
6. Promotion & Global Outreach
- Represent JISDCES in academic events, conferences, and forums.
- Establish partnerships with institutions, research bodies, and scholarly societies.
- Expand the journal’s visibility and citation impact through outreach and networking.
7. Innovation & Digital Strategy
- Advise on digital innovations such as AI-assisted review tools, data-driven publishing insights, and reader engagement platforms.
- Suggest improvements to the journal website, submission portal, and article layout experience.
