Summary

Dr. Xin Lu is an Associate Professor of Computer Science at Leeds Trinity University and Research Director of the School of Computer Science. He is the Founder and Director of the Human-Robot Collaboration & Intelligent IoT Lab.

He obtained his PhD in Computer Science from Loughborough University. With over a decade of research experience, his work focuses on smart systems powered by big data analytics and deep learning. His expertise spans cybersecurity for IoT and edge devices, digital twin technology, intelligent manufacturing, digital health, smart cities, federated learning, and Generative AI in higher education.

Dr. Lu has led and co-led multiple EU Horizon 2020, COST Action, Innovate UK, and UK OfS-funded projects. He has supervised numerous PhD students in AI-driven intelligent manufacturing, cybersecurity frameworks, blockchain applications, federated learning, and digital twin systems.

He serves as Editor-in-Chief and Guest Editor for several international journals and is an Editorial Board Member of multiple peer-reviewed journals in AI, cybersecurity, robotics, and intelligent communication systems. He is also an IEEE member, IET member, and Fellow/Associate Fellow of Advance HE.

His research outputs include journal papers in high-impact venues such as IEEE Transactions, Neural Networks, Journal of Cleaner Production, Robotics and Computer-Integrated Manufacturing, and Advanced Engineering Informatics, along with extensive conference publications in IEEE international conferences.
