Summary

Dr. Sheldon Wang is a tenured full professor in the McCoy School of Engineering at Midwestern State University. He earned his Ph.D. in Applied Mechanics and M.S. in Ocean Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and a B.S. in Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering from Shanghai Jiao Tong University.

Dr. Wang’s academic career includes faculty appointments at the New Jersey Institute of Technology, Polytechnic University (now NYU Tandon School of Engineering), and the Institute of Paper Science and Technology at Georgia Tech. He has extensive teaching experience across engineering and mathematics, covering subjects such as thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, finite element analysis, materials science, and numerical methods.

A licensed Professional Engineer (PE) and ASME Fellow, Dr. Wang has completed advanced training in multiscale modeling, nano-mechanics, and bio-inspired materials through multiple NSF summer institutes and professional workshops. His research and teaching focus on applied mechanics, thermal and fluid systems, and computational engineering.
